Réalisateur et photographe basé à Paris, Maverick Christian construit des images où la lumière, la matière et le geste passent avant l'effet. Formé à la direction artistique à Penninghen, il partage son travail entre les maisons de luxe et ses projets personnels.
Film
Pour la beauté, le parfum, la mode et l'horlogerie, il filme la matière à l'échelle du détail. En parallèle, il réalise des films narratifs comme Midnight Sun.
Photographie
Il travaille l'argentique comme un espace de ralentissement. Polaroïd, chambre, tirages RA-4 : il impose des contraintes à son processus (penser la lumière, construire la composition, attendre), puis laisse la chimie intervenir. L'image devient une conversation entre intention et accident. Face à un modèle, la chambre suspend le temps, dans un dialogue à trois entre l'artiste, le sujet et l'image. À l'heure où les images se multiplient à l'infini, il choisit l'unique : portraits, natures mortes et séries construites lentement.

Film
For beauty, fragrance, fashion and watchmaking, he films material at the scale of detail. Alongside, he makes narrative films such as Midnight Sun.
Photography
He works with analogue as a space for slowing down. Polaroid, large format, RA-4 prints: he imposes constraints on his process (thinking through the light, building the composition, waiting), then lets the chemistry take over. The image becomes a conversation between intention and accident. Facing a sitter, the large-format camera suspends time, in a three-way dialogue between the artist, the subject and the image. At a time when images multiply endlessly, he chooses the singular: portraits, still lifes and series built slowly.
